Moving on to September

A few days into the month, but here is the new Fall Header look for September. Thankfully the weather this week is slated to be nice, temps in the 70’s, and I am thinking this is perhaps the last Hurrah for Summer. Must take advantage of it!

The flower in the Photograph I took at Swanson’s Nursery this weekend. We were there scoping out plants for the backyard and researching what would be most appropriate to get in the ground this season. This is a Chocolate Cosmos (Cosmos atrosanguineus) and the description reads: “A popular tender perennial with outrageous chocolate-scented, mahogany-red, almost black flowers that continues to bloom all summer long.” And yes, it really does smell like Chocolate. I think I need some to attain my chocolate fix even in the garden. Sadly, this plant wouldn’t be good to establish right now, so I have put it on the list and must await spring before one can come have a happy home on our property.
