Layers of reflection

DSC_2335

I was walking home the other day from Tougo Coffee and noticed this storefront. It is/was a hair salon, recently there has been some work going on inside and the curtains have been taken down, allowing for this intriguing field of reflective depth between the mirrors and windows. I found it interesting the layers of imagery between the Obama poster, dilapidated-looking interior, reflection of the school on the opposite side of the street and trees. It speaks on some deeper levels as to what people are seeking in this coming election. Now, I do have to state that I am not a political person, I am not endorsing or opposing this or any candidate (though have gotten a huge kick out of Tina Fey’s Sarah Palin impersonation) through this photograph. I think moreso, I see it as a reflection of the current state of our culture, our optimism that this election will bring about needed change and the yearning and the hope we want to have that things will improve.
