That’s quite a face

Can I just flat out laugh at this child? I mean, seriously. This face is hysterical.

It started out with Pia chomping her front four (and only) teeth together, which made her look slightly mad. I say slightly mad because in actually it was mostly silly. So we laughed. I think now our laughter has spurred her on. Now she does it ALL THE TIME. These shots I got last night after dinner when she was on a roll making faces at her sisters. The best part is that she purses her lips, juts out her chin, furrows her brow AND snorts air out her nostrils. Just to make a bigger impact, I guess. This is just another sign of how fast she is growing up and is aware of relational exchanges between people. Pia wants so badly to interact with her sisters, now that she has found a way to make them laugh it’s GAME ON!

Of course, she is still my sweet little baby, even under all the dry, crusty rice cereal left all over her face from Dinnertime. The bouts of her ‘Mad Looks’ break into gaping grins and laughter as we laugh right back at her. Then she makes the Mad face again, just to get another rise out of us. Our house is filled with loud, hysterical laughing between the end of dinner and bedtime. No wonder it takes so long to wind these girls down, they just perpetuate one another’s energy levels to soaring heights.

It seems too that Pia is ruling the roost. She has us all wrapped around her finger, getting us to making silly faces at her on command. It’s rubbed off on her sisters, which if logic were true in this case, the younger would be mimicking the elder. No, around here, Araiya and Tallis’s behavior in this regard is being heavily influenced by the baby, so I have three little girls sporting the craziest faces they can muster up for the camera. Can’t you tell?
