:: Two :: Years old- Araiya had her second Birthday, celebrated quietly- well as quiet as you can get with a two year old filled with cake and new presents- with just family. No fancy parties, no guests, just a weekend celebrating us. :: Five :: Months old- Tallis is well on her way around the calender as well. She is eager to crawl, eager to explore, and oh so tickled by the antics of her ol[...]

Summer Daze

Whoops, took a bit of a blog break there. Things have been hectic to the point of doing ourselves in. We have needed some time to inwardly reflect and recoup. While things haven't completely calmed down, we have attempted to lay a bit low. Tallis is getting some teeth and is fast approaching 5 months. Araiya turns 2 on Sunday. My birthday is on Monday, Araiya tells me I am two as well. All thr[...]

Back at it

Well, the laptop is back up and running. And improved. Along with a new hard drive, she got stuffed with a bunch more RAM and we purchased a 320GB backup external we are hooking up to our wireless network to act as a sort of server between the three computers. This is one of those things where you can't be too mad because, well, you know better. One excuse after another and years of saying we h[...]

Hard drive on the fritz. Needs replacing (again). At least my files can be recovered, thank goodness for that. It will take a bit to order new hardware and get it installed so the laptop can be up and running again. Stay tuned...
Exhaustion has set in. Enticing us into the deep seductive folds of sleep. The need and want of sleep is present; the reality of sleep is interrupted, snatched away by the busyness and tasks we have relentlessly thrown ourselves into. By now it has all caught up to us. Looking back, where to start? Looking forward, how to sort it all? Last week and this week I have something going on every [...]

"I-ya, seat."

I am afraid this blog is becoming a log of sporatic posts listing what we have done. I wish it were more of a heat of the moment recording if life unfolding, but for the time being, it is not. My posting is leaning more towards quick tidbits and highlights of the past few weeks rolled into one list. I am thankful for Flickr and my photostream there. It serves as a photoblog visually expres[...]

For Jill (part 2)

He he. Araiya: 1 Barbie (and her role as a model of unrealistic unhealthy self-image, over-enhanced exhibitionist sexuality, retrograde pursuit of derogitory male approval, and unrestrained metaphysical material consumerism): 0 Actually the real reason the kid isn't that into Barbie is because she's two. The multitude of criticism of Barbie are well-documented, but irrelevant to someone wh[...]

For Jill (part 1)

Jill has been my friend since Kindergarten. Actually, pre-kindergarten. We have often been mistaken as sisters, or at least related, as we share some resemblance to one another. Jill is an only child. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying she was spoiled or anything (she may differ on this opinion), but Jill had more barbies than anyone you have ever met. Jill had every Barbie ever made bet[...]

Beautiful Saturday

Spent time with those I love the most. Ran around the yard, Ate snacks on the deck, Mixed paint colors, Filled in two doors in the master bedroom, Enjoyed free time during a long Tallis nap, Made awesome Fish Tacos with delicious seasoning from my mom, Had friends over, got more stuff out of the loft, Continued envisioning what to do to the house, Talked on the phone with my Grandma, Compiled [...]
